The Little Banksia
78 Banksia Terrace, South Perth, Perth,WA
The Little Banksia is somehow like a hidden gem hiding away from the busy Mill Point Road and Canning Hwy, situated at an undisturbed street – Banksia Terrace. With a little green backyard aside and warm friendly interior designs, the Little Banksia is more like a neighbourhood house, rather than a cafe. It simply gave me a warm feeling that I was actually having brekkie at home to start my breezy morning.
(1) Buttermilk pancake:
I won’t say this is the best pancake I’ve ever had, but, this is probably one of the light and fluffy pancakes I’ve ever tasted. A strong buttery smell coming along with the waitress could definitely wake “a lazy me” up. The size looked kind of small but there were 4 pieces of pancakes, so I think this was a substantial dish anyways. With orange blossom mascarpone, this dish can whet your appetite for sure.
Perfectly round whites embracing the runny yellow yolks, this is all I can tell about their beautiful poached eggs. The saltiness from smoked salmon could perfectly balance the relatively light flavour hotcakes. And having halloumi to enhance the whole texture of the hotcakes was brilliant.
